Carlo Colaiacovo is set to return from a face injury suffered in late January after taking two pucks to the face in less than a week.
Colaiacovo will suit up for Friday nights important match-up with the Minnesota Wild at Scottrade Center.
Colaiacovo
"Then doctor hinted to me that would be the best thing going forward right away," he said. "The area around the eye is still sensitive and there is a high risk that any further damage could cause more severe damage to the eye. Quite frankly, I'm just not willing to take that risk."
Colaiacovo has played in 36 games for the Blues this season, scoring 4 goals and assisting on 12 others.
In order to make room for Carlo, the Blues have designated Tyson Strachan to Peoria.
Strachan has played decently on defense for the Blues while serving as a valuable substitute for Colaiacovo, Roman Polak, and Barret Jackman at various times throughout the year.
Strachan has just one assist in 24 games with the Blues in 2010. will look different on the ice though, as he will be wearing a "face cage" in order to protect from taking more pucks to the face.

You want Nikitin in there with how well he has playing, but I think he sits tomorrow night and maybe Jackman the next night to give his leg a rest
