Sam Bradford had plenty of question marks when the St. Louis Rams selected him first overall in the 2010 NFL draft.
Many questions surrounded his toughness, his durability, and if he will be able to adapt to an NFL system.
If today's announcement of Bradford as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year is any indication, Bradford answered all of those questions and then some.
Helping to lead the St. Louis Rams to a 7-9 season was very impressive for a rookie quarterback. Even more impressive is doing so after the Rams had combined to win just 3 games over the prior two season combined.
Bradford's leadership and impact on the overall team was obvious.
His numbers weren't bad either.
Bradford threw for 3,512 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was third in all of the NFL in attempts with 590, completing 60% of his passes and only throwing 15 interceptions.
Impressive if you are a rookie or a veteran.
And probably most important for a St. Louis team that needed stability and talent behind center more than any organization in the league, Bradford took every single snap under center. He answered all questions about his durability, toughness, and ability to stay injury free.
Not only did the Associated Press take notice of how well Bradford played in 2010. Hall of Fame quarterbacks did too. Check out what Steve Young had to say about Sam Bradford.
"Hearing him talk, the way he speaks, the way he plays, he is a really heady guy who is going to do very good. ... You get players like that and you know you are going to have them for 15 years. There is nothing more valuable by extreme measurement to a franchise. For St. Louis, it is a big, big deal. They took a risk. I can't imagine as a rookie actually playing good football. I went through it."
The future looks brighter and brighter behind "Sam the Ram" in St. Louis.
