Brad Boyes Traded To Buffalo For a Second Round Pick

Not 2 minutes after I speculated if the St. Louis Blues were going to make a move and which players were going to be the likely suspects involved, a move had already been made.

First announced via twitter by St. Louis Blues radio broadcaster Chris Kerber, Brad Boyes has been dealt to the Buffalo Sabres.

In return, according to Andy Strickland of truehockey.com, the Blues will receive a second round draft pick.

The move is a pure salary dump.  Boyes has one year left on his contract and is due $4 million in 2012.

Unfortunately, its a sad situation for the Note, who are 8 points out of the playoffs.  Although they are still within in striking distance, the financial situation ownership is under has caused the team to throw in the towel.

Which is a shame, since Blues fans have come out in force this season, filling up the Scottrade Center every single game.

For a recap of the other players I felt could be moved, check out my article HERE.

The Blues might not be done wheeling and dealing.
