Bowers Shows Skills Against Jayhawks

After taking a vicious "inadvertent" elbow to the face in Mizzou's 71-58 loss at Texas back on January 29th

Despite suffering what was believed to be a concussion, Bowers suited up for Mizzou's next two contests.

But he didn't look the same, averaging 16.5 minutes and 6.5 points, well below his season averages.

But in Monday night's 103-86 loss to Kansas, Bowers was a beast for the Tigers and was back to his old self.

Bowers poured in 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field, showing an outside touch from 15 to 18 feet from the basket.

His offense practically helped to keep the Tigers close during much of the first half.

Mizzou, now at 18-6 on the season, will need Bowers to play like he did against Kansas if the Tigers are going to have a shot at any success in the tournament.

Bowers knows that winning on the road sooner rather than later an only help the Tigers cause.

"We're still in the hunt for something," Bowers said, "and we've just got to play through it and just prove people wrong that don't think we can win on the road.", Missouri Tigers forward Laurence Bowers looked a little bit lost in his next two contests.
