Blues Shutout in Calgary 1-0

Coming off his shutout victory over the Edmonton Oilers, Ben Bishop was back in net for the St. Louis Blues.

Bishop played well for the second consecutive game, allowing just one Calgary goal.

But unfortunately, his offense was unable to get a single puck past Flames goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff in 27 chances and the Blues fell to Calgary 1-0.

The Blues, with 65 points on the season, desperately needed to tally a couple points in order to keep pace in the Western Conference standings.

Now 7 points behind the 8th spot, it is looking unlikely that there will be enough time or energy on the Blues side in order to make a playoff push.

With the trade deadline looming on Monday, it will be interesting to see if the Blues make another move.

Blues forward Vladimir Sobotka left the game early in the 1st period with a lower body injury after blocking a Calgary Flames shot.

Bishop stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced.

Alex Pietrangelo led the Blues offensive with 5 shots on goal in 25:34 minutes of ice time.

The Blues will see the Flames again on Tuesday night at home at the Scottrade Center.
