Bishop's Strong Performance Puts Conklin On Waivers

Ben Bishop has been an exciting prospect in the St. Louis Blues organization his entire career.

And after his 39 save shutout of the Edmonton Oilers, it looks like the Blues management is finally promoting him from prospect to NHL goalie going forward.

According to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, Blues back-up goaltender Ty Conklin has been placed on waivers.

The move figuratively makes Bishop the permanent back-up to Jaroslav Halak.

Bishop has appeared in 3 games for the Blues this season, posting a 1.77 goals against average and a .948 save percentage.

The 6 foot 7 inch goaltender was a 3rd round draft pick by the Blues back in 2005.
