That approval is never going to come.

The NCAA has ruled that Mitchell is ineligible to compete this season.  The school is not going to appeal the ruling.

"I'm very disappointed for Tony and his family," coach Mike Anderson said in a statement. "Tony is an outstanding young man, someone that has worked diligently to attend our university. He has shown great resolve during a difficult situation and we will continue to do whatever is allowable to help him as we move forward."

Mitchell is a 6 foot 8 inch forward out of Dallas, Texas.  He was the 15th nationally ranked prospect when the Tigers inked him, the highest the school has had in 15 years.

Its been reported that Mitchell is enrolling at North Texas University and will not be eligible to compete until next spring.
