The St. Louis Rams will pick 14th in the upcoming NFL draft that will take place April 28th.
The Rams will be looking to add some young players to the mix that will hopefully fit nicely with the core players on the Rams team.
Sam Bradford and Rodger Saffold certainly were two excellent picks in the 2010 NFL draft and the Rams will hope to add players that can contribute in the same manner that these now stalwarts were able to this past season.
The Rams have glaring needs at wide receiver. Bradford has plenty of slot receivers to throw to, but a down field threat is badly needed in order to open up the passing game and to give Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson some bigger holes and more running room.
Speaking of Jackson, another place the Rams will be looking to upgrade is at running back. Jackson is sure to have a couple of seasons left in his massive legs, but the team has been in desperate need of a "change-of-pace" running back to spell Jackson and to provide an extra threat on third down.
On defense, the Rams could use some talented youth both at defensive tackle and at outside linebacker.
According to Scouts Inc. college football players' rankings, players that could be available when the Rams pick 14th include:
Von Miller - OLB - Texas A&M
Julio Jones - WR - Alabama
Adrian Clayborn - DE- Iowa
Stephen Paea - DT - Oregon State
Mark Ingram - RB - Alabama
