Mizzou Will Look For Win Against Road Tough Texas

Missouri Tigers head coach is looking for a marquee road victory as his
13th ranked Tigers travel to Austin to play the 8th ranked Longhorns.
The 8th ranked Texas Longhorns have started the Big 12 season quickly with a 5-0 record, including two impressive road victories in their last two contests at Kansas and at Oklahoma State.

On Saturday night, the Longhorns will look to defend home court for once as they host the #13 Missouri Tigers at 8 p.m. in Austin, Texas.

Mizzou, who is 3-2 in league play and looking up at the first place Longhorns, will be looking for their first road victory over a Top 10 opponent since 1994.

The game figures to be a high scoring contest as both teams are among the highest ranking teams in scoring in the entire nation.  Mizzou ranks 5th in the nation in scoring with 85.0 points per game while the Longhorns come in averaging 77.1 points per game, good for 34th in the nation in scoring.

Texas is led by 6 foot 7 inch sophomore guard Jordan Hamilton, who is averaging 19.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

The Tigers will look for big games defensively from Michael Dixon and his 2.1 steals per game and Laurence Bowers and his 2.2 blocks per game.

Defense will be key in the Tigers ability to shut down an explosive Texas offense.

Game time is 8 p.m. central time.
