Mizzou Moves To #13 In Coaches Poll

The play of sophomore point guard Michael Dixon
is a big reason why the Tigers are 17-3 and ranked 13th
in the country.
Fresh off a week that included two impressive victories on their home floor at Mizzou Arena, the Missouri Tigers are back to climbing the polls.

With 17-3 overall record on the season, the Tigers are ranked 13th in this week's Men Basketball ESPN/USA Today Coach's Poll.

The Tigers have remained ranked throughout what has turned out to be an impressive season.  Mizzou has positioned themselves to receive a top 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament this year.

Of course, they will have to keep up their solid play.  The team has struggled a bit in Big 12 play at 3-2 and will need to win some games on the road if they are going to have a chance of competing for the Big 12 regular season Championship.

The Tigers will get a chance to make up some ground in the Big 12 standings as they travel to Austin, Texas to take on the first place Texas Longhorns.

The Longhorns are ranked 8th in the latest poll and are coming off an impressive road victory in Lawrence, Kansas against the Jayhawks.

If Mizzou is going to defeat Texas, they will need the entire team to pitch in.

"Whoever we play, we always feel we have a pretty deep team and try to use that to our advantage," guard Kim English said.
