Kiper Predicts Rams Will Take Julio

Mel Kiper has been covering the NFL draft for ESPN since 1984.

Say what you want about his analysis, or his hair, but Kiper has been around a long, long time and is generally considered the number one expert in evaluating college football talent.

So when Kiper revealed that he believes that the St. Louis Rams will take Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Julio Jones with the 14th overall selection, Rams fans should pay attention.

Jones is a 6 foot, 4 inch, 220 pound wide receiver out of Foley, Alabama.

Jones has breakaway speed to go along with his large frame.  Jones is the perfect candidate to fill the void that new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels covets; a big target for Sam Bradford to throw downfield too.

Jones had a stellar junior campaign for the Crimson Tide, hauling in 78 catches for 1,133 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Prior to this past season, Jones was overshadowed by his Heisman Trophy winning teammate in running back Mark Ingram.

According to Kiper, Ingram will be on the board as well when the Rams pick at 14th.

The Rams have a need for a back-up running back for all-pro Steven Jackson, so it will be interesting to see in which direction the Rams truly go.
