Is McDaniels the Right Answer at OC?

With Pat Shurmur headed to Cleveland to be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, the St. Louis Rams are moving quickly to secure their next offensive coordinator.

According to ESPN reports, former Denver Broncos head coach and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is in St. Louis meeting with Rams executives and head coach Steve Spagnuolo.

McDaniels, whose struggles working with star players such as Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall have been well documented in Denver, was a stellar offensive coordinator in New England.

McDaniels called the shots for the Patriots when Tom Brady went down with a season ending knee injury and he was key in the quick development of Matt Cassel as Brady's replacement.

McDaniels was also the offensive coordinator in New England the year Brady threw 50 touchdown passes.

Both of these points make McDaniels an enticing choice for the St. Louis Rams, who will be looking for somebody capable of developing young rookie quarterback Sam Bradford and for somebody who is able to open up the offense.

McDaniels can accomplish both, but, what remains to be seen, is if McDaniels does get the job, can he co-exist with Spagnuolo?

And more importantly, will he be able to get along with star running back Steven Jackson?
