Even though the St. Louis Rams were eliminated from the NFL playoffs before they even began when they dropped the last game of the season on the road at Seattle, St. Louisans do have something to look forward to during the AFC Title Game.
Former Missouri Tigers standouts Brad Smith and Ziggy Hood are squaring off against each other for a chance to lead their teams to compete in this years Super Bowl.
Smith, the former Mizzou multi-purpose quarterback, is a do-it-all type player for the Jets. Smith takes snaps out of the Wildcat formation, serves as the Jets fourth wide-receiver, and plays a vital role on special teams. Specifically, Smith has molded himself into one of the most electric kick returners in all of football.
On the other side of the ball, former Mizzou defensive tackle and first round draft pick Ziggy Hood has positioned himself as one of the anchors of the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers defense.
Hood played particularly well last week against the Baltimore Ravens, making 5 tackles including a crucial sack of Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to help seal the victory for the Steelers.
Brad Smith and his New York Jets will travel to see Ziggy Hood and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Kickoff is at 5:30 eastern time on CBS.
