The St. Louis Blues 20th ranked offense is sorely missing T.J. Oshie, Andy McDonald, and David Perron.
In order to attempt once again to plug the holes in an offense that averages just 2.6 goals per contest, the Blues have signed forward Kyle Wellwood to a one year contract.
Wellwood, who has been playing in the KHL, is 27 years old, 5 foot 11 inches, and weighs 181 pounds.
Wellwood posted 25 points while playing with the Vancouver Canucks in 2009-2010, including 14 goals and 11 assists in 75 games.
In order to make room for Wellwood on the NHL roster, the Blues have optioned Ian Cole back to Peoria.
The Wellwood signing should help solidify the ailing front line, but hopefully Wellwood doesn't take ice time from rookie forwards Phil McCrae and Ryan Reaves, who have shown good things since being called up from Peoria last week.
