Blues Scoring Streaks Come To An End

Not only was the Blues 4-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche defeating because it moved the Blues into 14th place in the Western Conference standings and 5 points behind the 8th place Avalanche, but it also signaled the end of a couple of scoring streaks. 

Blues forward Alex Steen had tallied a point in 7 consecutive games for the Note before failing to get on the board Monday night.  Steen did manage to put 3 shots on net in the loss.

Steen is second on the team in points with 36, including 15 goals on the season.   

Forward Patrik Berglund also saw his goal scoring streak snapped.  Berglund had scored in 3 consecutive games for the Blues.

Berglund did manage to tally an assist on a late goal by David Backes, giving him his own 7 game streak with at least a goal or assist.

Berglund's recent success seems to be directly tied to the return of Blues forward T.J. Oshie.  The tall forward has been more aggressive in front of the net during recent games, causing more traffic and opportunities for the youngster.

Berglund now has 11 goals and 17 assists, good for 28 points on the season

Berglund will look to extend his points streak to 8 games and Steen will hopefully start a new streak as the Blues travel to Calgary on Wednesday night.
