Blues Need Improved Power Play Against Coyotes

The St. Louis Blues have hung in tough throughout the multiple injuries to the teams top players like David Perron, Andy McDonald, and T.J. Oshie.

Oshie is close to coming back and many wonder if Monday night's game against the Coyotes at Scottrade Center will be the night.

Either way, head coach Davis Payne knows the Blues have to be better offensively and that the power play is key to the team's success.

"The power play has to be better," coach Davis Payne said. "You can't just have momentum-building power plays. We have to find a way to have four or five great power plays that end up in the back of the net at least a time or two, especially in a close, one-goal hockey game."

The Blues enter the game with 46 points, looking up at 11 other teams in the incredibly tough Western Conference.  One of those teams is the Phoenix Coyotes with 47 points, making it imperative that the Blues get a win against a conference foe on home ice.
