Series shifts to Los Angeles as St. Louis Blues look to take 3-0 lead

The St. Louis Blues have a 2-0 series lead against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference quarterfinals. The best-of-seven series heads to Los Angeles tonight at 9 CT for Game 3 as the Blues look to put the Kings in a stranglehold with a 3-0 series lead.

This series has been marked by outstanding goal-tending by Jonathan Quick and Brian Elliott, but more notably by the late game heroics; Alexander Steen's overtime winner in Game 1, and Barret Jackman's first career playoff goal with 51 seconds left in Game 2.

Before this series started, the Blues had an eight game losing streak against the Kings dating back to last season, including being swept 4-0 last season in the Western Conference semifinals as the Kings went on to win the Stanley Cup as an eight seed, the first time ever in NHL history. So even though it may look like the Blues have control in this series with a 2-0 lead , that may not be the case as Ken Hithcock added "I don't think there's one person in the room that thinks we're in control of anything than the number that says 2-0."

One of the hardest things to accomplish in hockey is to win a playoff game on the road, and that's what the Blues try to do the Kings tonight and take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. It was a huge boost for the Blues to win two games at home, now Blues' fans would most likely be happy with at least one win in Los Angeles, if not, two and end the series on the road.

The Blues and Kings drop the puck tonight at 9 CT in a pivotal Game 3. The game can be seen on FS Midwest or NBC Sports Network, after the Ducks-Red Wings Game 3.

Things to look at:
-Brian Elliott has won five straight games dating back to the regular season.
-The Blues are 10-0 in seven game series when leading 2-0.
-The Blues are 4-2 all time against Los Angeles on the road in the playoffs.
