Barret Jackman's late goal carries the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 serieslead

Game 1 it was Alexander Steen, Game 2 it was Barret Jackman as the St. Louis Blues win dramatically once again, 2-1 over the Los Angeles Kings to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Barret Jackman was the hero tonight scoring his first career playoff goal with 51 seconds left in the game as the Blues took a late 2-1 lead over the Kings. The Blues now have a 2-0 series lead over the Kings in the Western Conference quarterfinals as St. Louis' eight game losing streak against Los Angeles has now seemed to be long forgotten.

The Blues have took the first two games of the series in St. Louis, however it hasn't been easy as both goalies, Jonathan Quick and Brian Elliott have been on their game so far this series. The Kings opened up the game with a 1-0 lead as Dustin Brown scored on a 5 on 3 powerplay, off of a deflection. 10 minutes into the first period. Penalties from the Blues came from Ryan Reaves high sticking call and Barret Jackman interference call as Blues fans were not pleased whatsoever.

The Kings kept a 1-0 lead going into the third period as the Blues offense was creating a lot of chances, but Jonathan Quick was outstanding as he stopped 23 out of 25 shots tonight. The Blues have had trouble scoring all season and you wondered when it was going to come tonight; the third period was calling. Three minutes into the third period, Patrik Berglund delivered to tie the game at one as the Blues finally found life. Later in the third period, Dustin Brown collided with Brian Elliott as it took a while for Elliott to regroup but he showed his toughness and appeared to be fine as the crowd started to chant "Elliott, Elliott, Elliot". Brian Elliott stopped 28 shots tonight. That opened up a Barret Jackman goal ,his first career playoff goal with the assist coming from Chris Stewart as the Blues won another unbelievably close game with a remarkable finish.

It was the complete opposite feeling in Game 1 in the third period as the Kings tied the game up at one to send it into overtime. Game 2 however was sheer joy from the St. Louis Blues fans as Barret Jackman delivered in the clutch.

This series shifts to Los Angeles Saturday night for Game 3 at 9:00 CT in the Staples Center.
