Lindenwood notebook: Lions pull out huge win over Central Missouri

The Lindenwood Lions played host to the Central Missouri on Saturday afternoon at Hyland Arena in St. Charles and came into the game as heavy underdogs. UCM came into the game with a 9-1 record overall in MIAA play and were expected to roll to yet another conference victory.

But, the Lions held strong and picked up a huge 83-82 victory over the Mules to move their own conference record to 7-4.

Cody Sorenson and Brett Thompson led the way for the Lions, scoring 14 points a piece. The Lions are now 14-5 overall on the season and next play on Thursday at Northeastern State in Oklahoma.

Lions goalie Nichole Hensley earns Rookie of the Week honors

Lindenwood Lions goalie Nichole Hensley is having an outstanding rookie campaign for the Lady Lions and was named Rookie of the Week for her performance last wee. Hensley posted a win and a tie between the pipes for the Lions during the week.

Lions fall hard on the mats against Nebraska-Kearney

The Lindenwood Lions wrestling team traveled to Nebraska this past weekend to take on No 8 Nebraska - Kearney. The Lions came in as big underdogs and the outcome proved that they were. Lindenwood fell 36-3 to move its record to 2-7 in dual meets this season.
