Lohse has suddenly, and really for the second full season in a row, been the Cardinals most consistent starting pitcher in the rotation.
Lohse has made it through seven innings in each of his last six starts, an impressive number considering how important it is for a starter to go deep into games to preserve the bullpen and give hit club a chance to win.
Lohse leads the team with 116.1 innings pitched and thirteen quality starts this season. His 2.79 ERA and 1.08 WHIP are the lowest among all Cardinals starting pitchers and his nine wins are second only to All-Star Lance Lynn.
Lohse is making $12.187 million in the final year of a back-loaded four year, $10 million contract and will be a free agent at the end of this season.
So, after seeing just how good Lohse has been, should the Cardinals consider resigning the 33 year old starter or let him walk, thank him for his contributions, and invest the money elsewhere?

Lohse has robbed this team for 4 years, and it's no coincidence he is performing in a contract year. let him walk and spend that money on a younger arm that can give us 200 innings consistently.
