The University of Missouri and the Southeastern Conference have their relationship public for some time now, but it becomes truly official at midnight on Sunday morning.

On Sunday, July 1st, Mizzou will officially be released from the Big 12 Conference and become an official member of the SEC.

The school's athletic website, MUTigers.com, is counting down to the second the amount of time remaining until Mizzou officially becomes a member of the SEC.

The change is not only a big change for the players who compete in various athletics at Mizzou, but also in the University's approach to athletics.

After an announcement this week of a $30 million to improve athletic facilities, including the football stadium, it looks as though Mizzou is already taking the steps necessary to grow into the big stage that is the SEC.
