Many wondered if Marcus Denmon would get drafted in Thursday's 2012 NBA Draft.
Right near the end of the night, literally with the second to last pick, the San Antonio Spurs answered everyone's question and selected the Mizzou guard with the 59th overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Many draft experts felt Denmon may not get selected, but the Spurs, who are notorious for drafting and developing players overlooked by the rest of the league, took Denmon and made the Mizzou standout's dreams come true.
Denmon led Tigers in scoring during his senior season, averaging 17.6 points per game and shot 46 percent from point range. While teammate Kim English was the vocal leader of the thirty win team last season, Denmon seemed to will the Tigers to victories with his grit, determination, and heart.
During his time at Mizzou, Denmon, along with English, who was drafted earlier in the night by the Detroit Pistons, helped lead Mizzou to a pair of Big 12 Tournament Championships during his four years at Mizzou.
Congrats to Marcus Denmon, a Kansas City native, for getting a chance to play in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs.
