St. Louis high school hoops fans were glued to their televisions throughout last season's NCAA Tournament watching former Chaminade Prep star Bradley Beal lead the Florida Gators deep into March Madness and a Final Four apperance.

After the season ended, Beal announced that he would enter the NBA after just one season.  As a freshman at Florida, Beal averaged 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game and often was the best player on the court.

Beal left presumably because it was assumed he would be a very high pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.  According to multiple mock drafts, it looks as though Beal is almost guaranteed to be one of the first five selected.

Sam Amick of SI.com has Beal going number five overall to the Sacramento Kings.

Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com has Beal joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, who pick fourth.

Finally, Sean Devaney of SportingNews.com also has Beal going to Sacramento.

The experts feel Beal's game translates very well to the NBA.  Beal is a bit undersized for a wing player, but his game has been compared to Eric Gordon's of the New Orleans Hornets and Gordon has had no problem excelling as a shooting guard in the league.  Others feel as though Beal has the shooting skills to be like Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics.  Either way, the comparisons are good company for the talented Beal.

St. Louis should be proud to see a local kid do so well.  After standing out at Chaminade, Beal made a national impact with his performance as a freshman in the NCAA Tournament.

Now he will be making an impact in the NBA as a likely Top 5 pick in the NBA Draft very soon.
