Anybody familiar or living in or around the St. Louis metro area is keenly aware of how important the St. Louis Cardinals are to city's economy.
And evidently there is a study that pinpoints the importance numerically.
According to an organization named RCGA, the Cardinals will generate approximately $313.6 million dollars in 2011 for the city of St. Louis that would not otherwise be there.
Which is ever so important to a city that continues to look for ways to draw large companies and organizations back to the down town area.
And when small business owner's see this staggering figure, they have to be smiling, knowing that they can depend on the extra business and traffic that the local team helps to generate.
While there has been one game played thus far, there are 80 more days this season that the city of St. Louis will prosper due to great Cardinals fans coming downtown to Busch Stadium.
